The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun has assured residents of Ibeshe, Baiyeku and igbogbo areas of the council of establishing and building befitting primary school structures within the three localities to serve the increasing number of children yearning for primary education.
Aroyewun made the pledge during the commissioning of Ibeshe and Baiyeku Primary Health Centres (PHCs) which were fully rehabilitated and upgraded with a block of offices added in Baiyeku, on Thursday.
The council boss who said that his agenda is in alignment with that of President Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo – Olu, thanked Mr President for empowering the local government system which has made his administration to hit the ground running in terms of delivering solutions to the requests of the residents.

“Therefore, we have been able to achieve this (the health centre) and we are just starting. Just yesterday (Wednesday), my leader, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, called me to inform me that there is need for another public school in Ibeshe and a land has been secured for that purpose. We appreciate Olubeshe, Asiwaju Ibeshe, the Olubeshe – in – Council and the entire Ibeshe people for this.”
Aroyewun furthered, “Two days ago (Tuesday), officials from the ministry of works were here (in Ibeshe) to assess the land. We are going to build a befitting primary school in Ibeshe in the next one year.
“I am happy that this time we are in government, God is using us to achieve great things unlike before. We have to move very fast in terms of development and the leadership of our party is giving us 100% support and Olubeshe has assured us of his backing.

“We will keep commissioning projects.”
Aroyewun assured leaders and residents of Ibeshe of more progress and development.
Commending Mr President for the local government reform, he said: “If you look at our agenda, it is in synch with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President. So, all that we are doing is not just happening. It is how the President has helped to design and guide it especially in the area of improving the allocations to the local government. It is through this that we are able to do this. Our agenda is also in tandem with that of Mr Governor.
“What we are following strictly is the manifesto and agenda of our party which is all about development, progress, human capital development, infrastructure and this is part of the infrastructure.”

At the commissioning in Baiyeku, Aroyewun also assured residents of his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructures in primary schools to give good education to children.
“We also plan to build a standard primary school—one of the best in Lagos State, by God’s grace. Ashipa (Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya), suggested that we should do something special, and we have completed our assignment. The school at Zumuratul will have its own primary section, and it will be outstanding.
“All these are possible because of the support of our party. There is no money anywhere, but when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office, he emphasised that the local government belongs to the people and must be empowered. The government is empowering local governments, and with that support, we will deliver,” he again reassured the people.

Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, the Asiwaju of Ibeshe who was in the chairman’s entourage for the commissioning of two primary health centres and a block of six classrooms at the Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, commended the chairman for allowing his administration to be guided by needs assessment.
The educationist emphasised that education remains a critical need for the people in Ibeshe communities.
“Listening to the chairman, I am happy to hear from him, that he’s starting from conducting the needs assessment of the community, when we start from investigating the needs of the community, in other words, all the programmes, projects and policies of the government will be aligned with the needs of the community.
“As you have alluded to earlier in your speech, one of the critical needs of this community – Ibeshe is education.

“The first primary school was established in 1922 almost 150 years ago, the other one was established in 1979, which is more than 50 years ago and the population has exploded between that time and now, so, I am happy he (Aroyewun) has responded to that call and promised that by this time next year we’ll be having another public primary school in Ibeshe in addition to many other infrastructures.
“Aroyewun will do wonders judging from what he has promised and what I have seen.
“He had taken the challenge that he wants to build a masterpiece educational institution or facilities in Ikorodu, beyond just the regular or conventional building blocks, and when there’s a will there will always be a way.”
Asiwaju Kaoli assured the chairman of the full support of the political leaders in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA in his quest to deliver on his promises.

“He has a will and the political determination to do that and the backing of the legislature and of course, the party is behind him.
“Whatever he wants to do, we have one thing in Igbogbo Baiyeku that is the governance of the Apex led by our leader Ashiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun. We hold regular meetings at our leader’s house where we review the policies, programmes of government administration just to give advice and they benefit from it tremendously.”
The politician also said that the opportunity being given to youths to take over leadership is yielding positive results, he emphasised that more of such would be given.
“Let me allude to this, Ikorodu is blessed with chairmen that are very young and that is the way it should go and the way it should be.
“There should be succession plans, so that while we are still alive, we’ll see our young people performing. We will continue to give them the opportunity to govern and make Ikorodu the place of our dreams, especially your dreams because you still have many years ahead.”

He used Hon. Motuntayo Gbadebo -Alogba, the Executive Chairman, Ijede LCDA and Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, as points of contact to charge other youths to make themselves available for service.
“So, I am using these two executive leaders to contact our youths and tell them that they should make themselves available, productive, and to get involved in what is happening around and make their time a useful one for the community, not to disrupt in a negative way.
“Going forward to do it is to get registered, it’s your franchise. So, get registered and go and get your PVC, to make sure that you can use it on the day of election and vote for the party, and the candidate of your choice.”
